Welcome to My Tutoring Journey
After more than 20 years of supporting my own children, family members, and friends with their learning, I've decided it's time to open that same support to the wider community.
Education has always been something I'm passionate about. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child grow in confidence, overcome challenges, and achieve something they once thought was out of reach. Watching those "lightbulb moments" is what inspires me to teach.
My journey into tutoring began at home. For the past two decades, I've helped children of different ages develop their skills, build confidence, and prepare for important milestones. Most recently, I've been supporting my youngest son as he prepares for the 11 Plus examination. I'm incredibly proud to say that his brothers hard work paid off, and he successfully gained a place at grammar school and he's now in his final year. Going through the entire 11 Plus journey as both a parent and tutor has given me first-hand knowledge of the preparation, dedication, and encouragement needed for success.
Alongside my tutoring experience, I currently work as a supply teaching assistant across schools in Sandwell. This role has given me valuable experience working with children from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities, including pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Every child learns differently, and I believe that understanding those differences is the key to helping each student reach their full potential.
As my own son soon begins the next exciting chapter of his education, I now have more time to dedicate to helping other children succeed. Whether your child needs support with their schoolwork, wants to build confidence in English or Maths, requires patient and understanding SEN support, or is preparing for the 11 Plus, my aim is always the same: to provide personalised, encouraging tuition that helps every child thrive academically.
This week marks an exciting milestone as I work on launching my tutoring website and creating flyers to introduce my services to the local community. It's the beginning of a new chapter, and I'm genuinely excited to meet families, support students, and help children discover what they're capable of achieving.
I believe that every child has potential. Sometimes they simply need the right guidance, encouragement, and someone who believes in them.
